Generating or updating bill status for a customer

You can generate usage bill for a customer in a billing cycle according to the rate lines, rate packs, or adjustments defined for the customer. You can set the status of the usage bill to the Draft state if you need to modify the bill. You can set it to Internal Review and send it for approval to the BillOps Reviewer or BillOps Admin users. Once approved by the BillOps Reviewer or BillOps Admin user, you can send the PDF of the bill to customer approval and set the bill to the Customer Review state. Based on customer’s approval or rejection, you can then change the state of the bill to the Customer Approved or Customer Rejected state. Once approved and if the invoice is sent to the customer, you can change the state to the Bill Sent state. You can further set it to the Bill Paid state after the amount is received from the customer to complete the billing workflow.

1. On the side navigation bar, select the Billing tab, and click Edit Bill.
   Aquila Clouds displays the Edit Bill page.

2. Select the required customer from the Customers list.

3. Select the required billing cycle from the Billing Cycle list.

4. Click Apply.
   Aquila Clouds displays the billing details for the selected customers. This enables you to view the resource utilization costs, adjustment costs and other additional services costs if one or more Product Catalog options are already applied to the selected customer.

5. Click EDIT BILL STATUS.
   Aquila Clouds displays the Edit Bill Status page.

6. Enter the following details.

   • Status: Select the required status for the usage bill. BillOps Admin users can modify any state. BillOps Operator users can modify all states except Internal Approved. BillOps Reviewer users can modify the Internal Approved state depending on whether bill requires more modifications or it can be sent to customers for approval.

   • Comment: Type the required comment for the usage bill.

7. Click Save Status.

Aquila Clouds generates or updates the bill status for the selected customer according to the status defined.
