Network

  • When recommending savings on networks, there are two resource types that optimizations are suggested for. The first is Unmapped ELB and the second is Idle IP address.

  • Unmapped ELBs

    • Recommendations for unmapped ELBs are given when they are still incurring basic usage costs with no new requests being sent or with any associated network costs on a monthly basis.

    • The calculation for savings on unmapped ELBs are the (current MTD spend / current day of the month) * 365.

  • Idle IP Addresses

    • Recommendations for idle ip addresses are given when there are ip addresses that are not attached to any instances, but are still incurring costs.

    • The calculation for savings on idle IP addresses are the (current MTD spend / current day of the month) * 365.
