Aquila Clouds is a SaaS based autonomous cloud management platform that can be used by any CSP that offers a single or multi-cloud setup to its customers. Aquila Clouds platform offers a specialized solution that precisely addresses all billing requirements of CSPs.

Introduction

Aquila Clouds platform enables the CSPs to perform the following tasks for generating usage bills for customers using the AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Azure stack, and Oracle Cloud cloud service providers:

• Define rate card line: Enables you to specify rate lines for each category and sub-category of resources. A rate line can be defined for hourly, daily and monthly units according to the resource count. Aquila Clouds enables you to set the state to Active or In-Active so that rate line can be used/reused as and when required.
• Define rate pack: Enables you to define a rate pack to bundle up two or more resources that are frequently used by a customer or a group of customers. You can consider all resources (of same or different categories) that are used and to offer discounts to customers that use many resources. This saves you from wrongly applying discounts to customers or regions.
• Apply rate packs: Enables you to reuse any existing rate pack that is defined for any other region or customer and reuse it. This saves you from duplicating rate packs.
• Define adjustments: Enables you to adjustments for any managed service, discounts on any resources, markup cost or any other manual adjustments that maybe required on the rate line or in the monthly bill. You can set the cost for service as a fee or in slabs of the usage of a service, or a resource.
• Generate and view monthly bills for customers: Enables you to generate monthly bills for customers and set their state to Internal Review to get the bills reviewed and approved by the BillOps Reviewer or BillOps Admin before sending it to customers for their review and approval. This helps you to ensure that the rate cards and/or rate packs are properly assigned to the required customer or group of customers. Once internally approved, you can set the state to Customer Review and send the PDF of the bill to customers for their approval. Once approved by the customers you can send the finalized bill to the customer for payment.
• Billing portal for end-customers: Provides end-customers access to the billing portal to enable your customers to get an itemized snapshot of their operating costs and accordingly plan their operations. This provides additional transparency and assurance to your customers.

Note: Itemized snapshot is available to the customers only if the bill is generated and set to the Customer Review or Bill Sent state.
